MEET ROBERT A. CAPERS

Pastor Robert A. Capers

Robert A. Capers is a first-generation preacher, leader, and mentor born in Long Beach, Long Island, and raised in Waxhaw, North Carolina. A defining moment in his early life occurred when his mother developed a medical condition that left her wheelchair-bound. This experience shaped his resilience, compassion, and deep sense of responsibility, laying a strong foundation for both his life and ministry.

Pastor Capers possesses a rich and diverse background marked by a deep commitment to education, leadership, and spiritual development. He completed his secondary education through Union County Public Schools in Monroe, North Carolina, and pursued higher education at South Piedmont Community College, Winston-Salem State University, and Grand Canyon University. He further strengthened his theological foundation through training at Rhema Bible Theological Seminary, equipping him to lead with both academic insight and spiritual authority.

In 2012, Pastor Capers committed himself to the Mt. Calvary Holy Church of America under the apostolic leadership of Presiding Bishop Alfred A. Owens, Jr. and Co-Pastor Dr. Susie C. Owens. He aligned with the South Carolina Jurisdictional Fellowship under Bishop Herbert C. Crump, Jr. and Lady Dawn Crump, founders of Freedom Temple Ministries. In April 2013, he was ordained as an Elder in the Mt. Calvary Holy Church of America, marking a significant step in his ministerial journey.

Throughout his ministry, Pastor Capers has served in multiple leadership capacities, including pastoral assignments at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Cheraw, South Carolina; The House of Freedom Fellowship Church in Cheraw, South Carolina; and Oro Church (formerly Oro United Methodist Church) in Pageland, South Carolina. He also faithfully served for several years as the second in succession at Freedom Temple Ministries in Rock Hill, South Carolina, further strengthening his pastoral leadership and administrative insight.

Today, he serves as the Founder and Senior Leader of The House of Freedom Worship Center in Monroe, North Carolina, and continues to extend his impact across regions. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of Robert A. Capers Ministries, Inc., through which he leads initiatives focused on leadership development, ministry growth, and community impact.

Beyond the pulpit, Pastor Capers is deeply committed to mentoring and developing the next generation. He serves as an educator and track and field coach at Forest Hills High School in Wingate, North Carolina, where he invests daily into the lives of young people, encouraging discipline, growth, and purpose.

His passion for leadership development is evident through the creation and hosting of impactful initiatives such as the Passion for Leadership Symposium, Leadership Empowerment Conferences, and the Maximizing Your Vision Pastors & Church Leaders Conference. Through these efforts, along with his preaching and teaching ministry, his heartfelt desire is to see God’s people walk in freedom while growing and maturing into the fullness of their God-ordained destinies.

As an emerging author, Pastor Capers has also written Hope Within Challenging Times: Overcoming Life’s Obstacles and Challenges with Spiritual Concepts and Practical Principles, further extending his voice to inspire and equip others beyond the pulpit.

At the core of his ministry is a firm belief that leadership is a calling marked by both service and sacrifice. He is committed to helping leaders navigate the weight of their assignment with integrity, clarity, and spiritual wholeness—preparing them to carry the mantle of faith and purpose into the future.

Pastor Capers resides in Monroe, North Carolina, with his wife, Lora Marsh-Capers. Together, they are blessed with three daughters and three grandchildren who bring joy and fulfillment to their lives.
